Mizzou FMIG once again participated in the national AAFP Tar Wars program in 2012. On Nov 8-9, FMIG members went to 3rd-5th grade classrooms in the Columbia, MO area to educate students on the dangers of tobacco use. Students take part in activities that highlight the adverse effects of cigarettes and chewing tobacco, and they also have the opportunity to participate in a national poster contest that encourages being "smoke-free".
If you are interested in activities like Tar Wars, volunteer for our "Ready, Set, Fit!" activity encouraging physical fitness in kids, coming up Spring 2013! Contact Andrea Schuster @ email@example.com if you would like to participate.
